COMPLETION

2014

As part of the urban planning support program 'active city and neighbourhood centres' (Aktive Stadt- und Ortsteilzentren) Pasing an architectural and urban examination and assessment of the historically evolved structure at the Planegger Straße and several planning conceptions for careful safeguarding and upgrading were made on behalf of the Münchner Gesellschaft für Stadterneuerung MGS (Munich Company for Urban Redevelopment).

The district of Pasing, which is first mentioned in record in 763 as 'Villa Pasingas’, has probably been inhabited since the Bronze Age. It is located at the junction of two trading routes, the salt road Munich-Augsburg and the interconnecting routes along the River Würm and the church parishes from Dachau to Starnberg. South of the city centre and the former moated castle of Pasing the Planegger Straße follows the route of the country road along the Eastern edge of the slope of the floodplain of the river.

The street scene, which seems very heterogenous at first, is characterised by buildings from several periods, an ensemble of contemporary witnesses of the urban development of the area, presenting itself as a unit of diversity.

The examination focused on the quality of the buildings, their assignment to historical steps of development, as well as the assessment of their condition and recommendations for upgrading and safeguarding of some of the facades according to priorities.
